Iron Infusions

A number of doctors who consult at BFWC offer a Ferinject or Monofer iron infusion service.

An iron infusion is an intravenous solution that is used in the treatment of iron deficiency conditions. Iron is an essential element required by the body for its oxygen carrying properties and it plays an important role in many other vital processes in the body.

An infusion is used when oral supplements are ineffective or cannot be used. The aim is to replenish iron stores and to correct anaemia.

You will need an appointment to discuss the procedure and have the necessary investigations prior to being able to proceed with the infusion.
