Services / Antenatal & Obstetric
Brighton Family & Women's Clinic provides many different options for your antenatal and obstetric care. It is a very special time in a woman's life and we believe it is important that you have enough information to make the right decision for you and your family.
FAMILY MEDICINE OBSTETRIC CLINIC - Sandringham Hospital
Antenatal care given by Specialist Obstetricians and GP's in the clinic attached to the hospital. You do not have a choice in who delivers your baby. This care is bulk billed.
MIDWIFE CLINIC - Sandringham Hospital
Trained Midwives are available to care for healthy women (conditions apply).
SHARED CARE - Sandringham, Mercy & Monash Hospitals
(Drs Campbell, Herring, Isaac and Vigderovich)
If your family doctor has an affiliation to the hospital he/she can share your care with doctors at the hospital clinic. However your family doctor will not be able to deliver your baby. The GP obstetrician or obstetric registrar on duty will do this.
Your GP will charge approximately $90 for each visit during your pregnancy.
The consultation at 20 weeks will be charged at $140.00 (rebate $114.60).
PUBLIC GP OBSTETRIC CARE - Sandringham Hospital
(Dr Marita Campbell)
All antenatal care is provided by a GP. The patient will attend the doctor's rooms. The initial consultation fee will be $250 (rebate $89.75). Your GP will charge approximately $90 for each subsequent visit during your pregnancy. Consultation after 20 weeks will be charged at $290.00 (rebate $260.40). Your GP will endeavour to deliver your baby and provide post-natal care personally. The charge for delivery and post-natal care will be covered by the hospital.
