Script and referral policy
We are a quality practice and as such our doctors practice to the highest possible standards.
It is in the best interests of your health to make an appointment to see your doctor if you require repeat prescriptions. The doctor needs to monitor your progress, perform checks such as blood pressure and review any side effects or possible interactions with other medications.
For this reason, if a repeat script is requested over the phone, only a limited amount of your medication will be prescribed until you are able to make an appointment to see your doctor, and you will be charged a fee of $10.
The same policy applies to referrals. Generally they are valid for 12 months and after that time you may need a review from you doctor to see if it is necessary to continue specialist treatment.
Our doctors are not trying to make your life difficult, but genuinely care about your health. Medication issues can have serious implications for your health, so please plan ahead and make an appointment where possible, instead of telephoning for scripts.
If you are unable to collect your script / referal in person, please telephone the clinic and advise our reception staff of your authorisation for a friend or family member to make the pick up on your behalf.
